CHICAGO, March 23, 2011 - Prime Advantage, the leading buying consortium for midsized industrial manufacturers, announced the members of the 2011 Prime Advantage President's Club. Seven parent companies, representing in total 60 companies, were each recognized for achieving a long list of criteria ranging from annual purchasing thresholds to regular use of the group’s Endorsed Suppliers.

Follett Corporation, Manitowoc Foodservice, McWane, Inc., The Middleby Corporation (NASDAQ: MIDD), Perfection Equipment, SMF, Inc. and Wilbur Curtis Company have each earned membership in the 2011 Prime Advantage President’s Club. Their membership was achieved by meeting or exceeding many requirements, including:

  • Achieving a purchasing volume minimum threshold through Prime Advantage Endorsed Suppliers, while also exceeding the prior year's in-group purchases
  • Participating in various Prime Advantage committees, or served as a standing reference for potential Members/Suppliers
  • Proactively utilizing the supplier evaluation platform for Prime Advantage Suppliers , which is an important measurement of Supplier performance and is closely monitored by Prime Advantage
  • Consistently participating in the semi-annual conferences held with Members and Suppliers.

A representative from each company will be recognized for this accomplishment at the Prime Advantage Spring Conference in Las Vegas, April 27-29.

“It is important to recognize great work, and the President’s Club winners each offer examples of how outstanding attention to supply chain excellence in procurement processes, with pre-qualified Suppliers, can lead to significant bottom-line savings, as well as highly developed procurement organizations,” said Louise O’Sullivan, president and founder of Prime Advantage.

“Middleby is thrilled by this recognition, which is a true testament to the great working relationship we have forged with Prime Advantage and its Endorsed Supplier network,” said Selim Bassoul, chairman and CEO, The Middleby Corporation. “Prime Advantage has become a powerful asset in our business planning, and we know that these bonds will only strengthen over time.”

In the past ten years, Prime Advantage has paid more than $110 million in rebates and discounts to its manufacturing industry Members.
